KAP Strategic Plan

Comprehensive Development of Processing Plants at OS Pelso Kft.

OS Pelso Kft. is implementing another large-scale investment within the framework of the KAP Strategic Plan. Based on the call for proposals titled "Feldolgozó üzemek komplex fejlesztése" code number KAP-RD04a-RD04b-1-24, the company has been awarded a non-repayable grant of HUF 690,437,065. The project is carried out within the program operated by the Hungarian State Treasury, funded by the KAP Strategic Plan, aiming at the complete technological and infrastructural development of the processing plant located in Nagykáta, with special emphasis on renewable energy utilization and environmentally friendly material processing.

Key Data of the Investment

Main Elements of the Project

• Architectural and infrastructural works – road, utility, and concrete construction

• Establishment of a manure drying system

• Expansion of composting technology

• Procurement of compost turner equipment

• Drum screener (Terra Select T60 Ecoline) – screening and homogenization technology

• Tank trailer for organic material logistics

• Installation of pyrolysis unit (Pyro 150) as a renewable energy source

• Solar system and battery energy storage (renewable energy category)

• Project management, design, and public communication

Environmental and Energy Efficiency Objectives

More than half of the funding is implemented as a renewable energy investment through the integration of pyrolysis technology, which produces biochar and thermal energy. The development covers at least 30% of the production process's energy demand from renewable sources. The project follows the principles of the circular economy: agricultural by-products (manure, plant residues, sludge) are processed into reusable, valuable soil-improving materials while reducing carbon emissions.

Impact of the Investment

Following the development, the Nagykáta plant will become one of Hungary's most complex compost and biochar production systems. With modern equipment, a closed technological chain, and energy self-sufficiency, the facility reduces logistics and energy costs, minimizes environmental emissions, and provides a reliable supply base for Hungarian agricultural partners. The investment contributes to the economic growth of the region and creates new, high-quality jobs.

Project Timeline

The grant decision became final on September 30, 2024. The implementation will be completed within 36 months, expectedly by the end of 2027. The deadline for submitting the final payment request is the last day of the 36th month following the finalization of the grant agreement.
