Technological Development at OS Pelso Kft.'s Balatonlelle Plant
OS Pelso Kft. has received a non-refundable grant of HUF 117,648,312 with 50% intensity under the Demján Sándor 1+1 SME Investment Stimulus Program, based on the decision of the Ministry of National Economy. The development is implemented with the contribution of the Hungarian Economic Development Agency (MGFÜ) at the site located in the outskirts of Balatonlelle, Somogy County, parcel no. 097/10

Background and Objectives of the Project
The aim of the grant is to further enhance the technological level of OS Pelso Ltd. and to improve energy and resource efficiency. The project contributes to strengthening the company's position as a key player in organic material processing and regenerative soil management in Hungary.
Founded in 2000, OS Pelso Ltd. has long been producing compost and soil-enriching products of various nutrient values using innovative methods and materials such as green waste and sewage sludge. With an annual processing capacity of approximately 13,000 tonnes, it is one of Hungary's largest compost producers. The products are successfully used both in conventional and regenerative farming, and are also in demand in horticulture, ornamental plant and fruit production. The current investment aims to improve compost quality while increasing energy efficiency and digitalisation.
Project Description

Procurement of new equipment leading to technological development: a drum screen (Dobrosta), compost turner, telescopic loader, and osmotic barrier.

Installation of renewable energy technologies, including a battery energy storage system.

ICT developments – introduction of new company laptops, software (e.g. Microsoft 365) and digital management systems.

Consultancy and management system development.

• Physical completion deadline: 28 August 2026

Final financial and professional report deadline: 27 October 2026

Maintenance period: 3 years after closure.
Expected Results and Impacts
As a result of the development, the Balatonlelle plant will become more advanced both technically and environmentally.
The modernised equipment and energy-efficient technologies will increase production efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
With the help of modern machinery, compost quality will improve, enabling the company to meet sustainable production needs in the long term.
OS Pelso Ltd.'s key objective is to continue applying the most modern and environmentally friendly technologies in composting and humus formation, contributing to a carbon-neutral future for Hungarian agriculture.
